ESPN has an app for Xbox Live through which you can get your daily sports fix. With the ESPN Xbox Live app, you can choose from thousands of live events, replays, highlights in full 720 HD (provided your TV supports it), directly from your Xbox One console.

The app offers a number of features that are exclusive to the Xbox One. These are:

  • All the content of ESPN, ESPN3 and on your console.
This is one of the most convenient and powerful ways to get all the live events, highlights and replays in HD quality. With this app, you will never miss a moment of the action.
  • Sports Guide
You can customize the Sports Guide to show you a personalized daily feed of your favorite sports and teams. Get the live events, news and highlights that you’re interested in and catch up whenever you want.
  • Gesture and voice control with Kinect
If you’ve got the Kinect addon, you can navigate, play, pause and stop the action with a simple flick of your hand or a voice command. Who uses a remote anymore?

Installing ESPN on Xbox One

  1. Sign in to Xbox Live
  2. Once you’re on the Xbox Dashboard, go to apps, choose Browse Apps.
  3. Navigate to or search for ESPN. You will find the ESPN for Xbox Live app.
  4. Once it has been downloaded, navigate to apps, My Apps and then select ESPN.

Using the app

The MySports guide has now been renamed Sports Guide and there are a couple of differences. Along the bottom of the screen you will see a number of tiles, organized into themed channels. When you highlight a tile you’ll see its information in the right-side panel. Some info panels allow you to perform actions such as playing video by pressing A.

Up and down navigates through the channels, and left and right scrolls through the tiles in that channel. The video stream will remain uninterrupted as you browse until you select something else to watch.

Are you subscribed to WatchESPN? You can activate your subscription through the app settings.

To personalize the app, you can log-in to your account to create sports channels based on your myESPN favorite sport preferences. When you do this, the Favorites channel will also become populated.
